Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening
I love this poem for its anticipation. The speaker is sitting in the woods taking a breath to watch the beauty of nature before he moves on to his chores and errands. It makes me remember the beauty of winter (especially when I'm knee-deep in the muck of driven dirty snow and biting cold). The snow insulates. It's quiet and still. In the middle of things to do, it's nice to stop and sit.
I included a couple of words that stood out to me as being confusing. There are three pictures for down so that kids can see what it actually is, where they might have seen it, and therefore make a connection to how something could be "downy."
